PCSHS celebrates world teachers’ day 2017

The efforts, sweat and tears of the teachers of Pasay City South High School have paid off as they were honored last October 5, 2017, at the PCSHS Gymnasium as the school celebrated   World Teachers’ Day with full enthusiasm and dedication.

          The event with the theme of ” Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso.” was started by an opening prayer sang by the Katimugan Chorale and followed by the national anthem and was commenced by Kc Rose Inahid – SSG President and Anne Siobal – SSG PIO.

Teachers from different departments wowed everyone as they showcased their talents in the event. Students also dedicated several performances for the teachers as some of them also sang, and the rest presented different dance numbers.

Also one of the most awaited parts of the program was awarding teachers who have worked for 10-45 years for their long time in the profession.. Awards like “Most Friendly Teacher” and “Most Admirable Teacher” were also given that was made possible all thanks to the votes of the students. The students took power and voted their favorite teachers.

PCSHS’s beloved principal, Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog then gave his closing remarks. He thanked everyone who participated for yet another successful event.The principal also gave emphasis to the teachers’ worth. One of his remarkable lines was, “Without the teachers, there wouldn’t be doctors, engineers, pilots …”

PCSHS’s beloved principal, Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog then gave his closing remarks. After that, the students gave all the teachers a warm round of applause. But the World Teachers’ Day celebration did not end

Southenians garner awards in population Development Program

       Pasay City South High School once again, bagged awards at World Population Day Contest held at Pasay City North High School Tramo Campus  last 11th of September, 2017 with its theme  “Family Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations”

                In the celebration of World Population Day, the United Nation Foundation (UNF) launched  a contest that uplifts the investing and unlocking the potential of  family planning and implementation of health and rights of the women and couples’  as the country’s development growth. The students who represented PCSHS were Andrea B. Peralta who won 2nd place in essay writing contest,  Kieth Maui D. Alejandre who won 2nd place in poster making contest, Leiyan Piadozo as representative for jingle making contest and Joshua E. Estonilo as representative in extemporaneous speech contest. The activity helped the students to give their opinions and to impart knowledge about family planning through writing, speaking, composing and illustrating a poster.

                The contest aimed to provide knowledge and understanding of the prevailing situation; to create awareness among teenagers about population matters; to provide necessary skill to evaluate the impact and consequence  of population on society; and to give the knowledge of population policy and population measures. The contest also tackled the effects of population growth on economic development which created pressures on limited natural resources.

                The victory of Pasay City South High School wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of Social Studies Department teachers and their OIC Head, Ms. Grace L. Cabayao.

PCSHS strengthens their SBM

                 Pasay City South High School (PCSHS) strengthened their School-Based Management through enhancing the physical arrangement of their school documents and structuring their SBM corner beside the library room last May 15, 2017.

                 Pasay City South High School (PCSHS) strengthened their School-Based Management through enhancing the physical arrangement of their school documents and structuring their SBM corner beside the library room last May 15, 2017.

               Mrs. Basilisa D. Tomimbang, PCSHS-SBM Teacher-in-Charge said that PCSHS-SBM was not given full concentration for the last two years and was only revolutionized by Department of Education (DepEd) to improve the said program.

               According to DepEd Order 45, Section of 2015 (DO 45, S. 2015), the principal of the schools was given the power to improve their school performance and achievement of their students due to decentralization of the revolutionized SBM program.

               Tomimbang also stated that SBM program could help all the people of PCSHS in terms of searching for their needed documents, HS-SBM Teacher-in-Charge said that PCSHS-SBM was not given full concentration for the last two years and was only revolutionized by Department of Education (DepEd) to improve the said program.

Brigada is on the way

The DepEd School Division of Pasay City launch the yearly “BrigadaEskwela” on Monday at PCSHS or known as Pasay City South High School.

Lead by Principal AgapitoTeodoro N. Manaog, Brigada Eskwela Chairman Mrs. Wulfilda Mercado and Vice Chairman Mr. Isagani Nool.

The activity started with a parade from PCSHS passing through the Bario of Brgy. 183. Students, teachers of different grade level and departments also joined the parade for the launching of Brigada Eskwela 2017.

With the Department of Education focusing in maintaining resilient and catastrophic prepared classrooms, this year’s theme is “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan.”

The nationwide start of Brigada Eskwela by public schools will be on May 15-20, 2017. But in the case of our school were having an extension or “Brigada Plus” starting May 23, 2017 because there are other rooms, school garden and canteen needs a little renovation. Mr. Nool said that the extension of Brigada Eskwela must be finish before the Inset Day that will be on May 29-June 2, 2017.

Mr. Manaog emphasize the importance of Brigada Eskwela not only in changing the physical aspect of our school but developing a lot of values.

During the closing program, he thanked the students, teachers, parents, sponsors and volunteers whose willing to spent their summer vacation in helping and joining during Brigada Eskwela instead of relaxing and going out of town. “We belong to one community, We belong to one school. Let us not stop moving forward until we reach our goal” he stated. PCSHS is very lucky to have a principal like Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog.
