According to the school archives, Pasay City South High School as an educational institution was founded in 1967 through the collaborative efforts of parents who were members of the PAF officers together with the Pasay City Government. For more than decades, the school delivers basic services of the PAF personnel as well as the children of the civilians residing in Villamor Air Base and the nearby surrounding areas like CAA Compound, Don Carlos Village, Kalayaan Village, and Teachers Bliss Condominium in Pasay City. It also caters to as far as Sun Valley in Parañaque, Signal Village and Bicutan in Taguig and Fort Bonifacio.

                Dissemination of information for the affair were made through announcements in social media. A public facebook page was created calling the attention of the alumni from 1969 – 2019. Meeting was set on August 4, 2018 at the Audio-Visual Room where a number of alumni from different batches attended. Officers were elected then appointed batch representatives to relay information to their batch mates. Updates are posted on the page from time to time for meetings and other matters for the preparations of upcoming activities.

                On February 16, the kick off parade was set. It was participated by the PCSHS drum and lyre, school administrators, members of the faculty and the alumni. It was a color-coded parade with the alumni wearing their batch shirts: yellow for 1969 and the faculty members, green for the 70’s, black for the 80’s, maroon for the 90’s and gray for the 2000’s. The parade started at school quadrangle as an assembly area then together marched to the streets of Villamor Air Base then back to school where it started. A short program was rendered while everybody was taking rest. Students from Grade 10 Agate and Alexandrite entertained the audience. Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog, Principal II PCSHS, welcomed and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the alumni for their positive response. In the afternoon basketball and volleyball tournaments were held at the school’s gymnasium which were composed of teams representing the alumni batches.

                As a part of the celebration, the school organized a whole day affair on February 20 with the theme “Makiisa, Sariwain ang Pagkakaisa, Southenian Ka”. A thanksgiving mass was held at the school gymnasium which was attended by school administrators, members of the faculty and Grade 8 and 10 students. After it, booths of different school clubs kept students busy and entertained in the morning and at 3:00 PM, the selection of Mr. & Miss Foundation began. Song and dance numbers were showcased by the finest performers from Junior and Senior High School students and teachers as well. Yngrid Kurei Factuar a Grade 10 student and Kerbey L. Ilao a Grade 9 candidate emerged winners among the other candidates from the different grade levels.

                The highlight of the 50^th Foundation was the Alumni Homecoming held at Cuneta Astrodome on February 22. Alumni, teacher retirees, school administrators and members of the faculty flocked the venue to celebrate the big event. Even the school mayor Antonino Calixto, Vice Mayor Noel “Boyet” Del Rosario and other city officials were present to share their feelings of joy and gratitude for the school’s unwavering service for 50 years. It was indeed a night of festivity and unfailing memories of the alumni’s experiences during high school years. Atty. Rhaegee Tamaña of batch 1971 served as the speaker who in her speech rekindled the past achievements and memories of the school. In like manner, Sir Manaog also gave his message that inspired every Southenian in the place to support their beloved Alma Mater.       Of course, performances from different batches made the event more entertaining and memorable, like the Hagibis of batch 80, selected the cultural dancers of Nayong Pilipino from batches 1976-1979, of course the singing doctor with his live band, song numbers from Joy Q.  Aquino of batch 99 and Neil Pedrosa of batch 2001; and the dance of the decade by selected representative from different batches. Even some members of the faculty displayed their dance skills to show everyone that they can also catch up with the modern dances.

                The affair lasted past 10:00 PM with the alumni’s unending goodbyes, for sure it will be long time for them to see each other again. But one thing is for sure PCSHS will still be there for them to go back to. It’s has been decades of service producing competitive Southenians, to render service to the community and the country. It’s already 50 years and still counting . . .
